{"id":2842,"date":"2018-01-30T17:54:54","date_gmt":"2018-01-30T16:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/WestfieldWonders\/?p=2842"},"modified":"2018-01-30T17:54:54","modified_gmt":"2018-01-30T16:54:54","slug":"investigating-living-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/WestfieldWonders\/2018\/01\/30\/investigating-living-things\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigating Living Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Primary 2 have been learning all about living things and how they work. \u00a0Today we done an experiment to investigate how plants drink water. \u00a0We put pieces of celery into a plastic cup and added some water. \u00a0Then we added some food colouring and this turned our water a dark red colour. \u00a0In groups, we discussed what might happen to these pieces of celery. \u00a0Some children said the celery might dissolve in the water overnight. \u00a0Other children think the celery may turn a different colour.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2843\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/WestfieldWonders\/files\/2018\/01\/IMG_1604-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Primary 2 are very excited to find out what happens.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of our lesson today the children were asked what things they have been enjoying during our topic and what they have learned so far. \u00a0Here are some replies&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I liked the experiment with the plants&#8221;
