{"id":2182,"date":"2020-06-09T20:09:07","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T20:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/WestfieldNursery\/?p=2182"},"modified":"2020-06-09T20:09:07","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T20:09:07","slug":"health-week-wednesday-get-active","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/WestfieldNursery\/2020\/06\/09\/health-week-wednesday-get-active\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Week, Wednesday &#8211; Get Active"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wednesday &#8211; Let&#8217;s get active!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Being active and exercising will keep us healthy and it is so much fun&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Shake Your Sillies Out \u266b Brain Breaks Songs for Kids \u266b Kids Action Songs by The Learning Station\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NwT5oX_mqS0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There are lots of different things you can do to keep active and stay healthy.\u00a0 You should try to be active every day for at least an hour.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why don&#8217;t you make a chart and give yourself a sticker or colour a box every time you do something active.\u00a0 Maybe you could:\n<ul>\n<li>Go for a walk<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><\/li>\n<li>Go on a bike ride<\/li>\n<li>Go on your trampoline<\/li>\n<li>Go on your spacehopper<\/li>\n<li>Take your scooter for a ride<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Run around your garden<\/li>\n<li>Do a cosmic Kids Yoga programme<\/li>\n<li>Practice some dance moves\/play party games to music (musical bumps\/statues etc)<\/li>\n<li>Do some action songs on youtube (e.g. See the little bunnies sleeping, head, shoulders, knees and toes, We&#8217;re going to the zoo etc)<\/li>\n<li>Make an obstacle course for you and your family to complete<\/li>\n<li>Play throwing and catching with someone<\/li>\n<li>Play football with someone<\/li>\n<li>Play target games e.g. skittles, basket ball, tin can alley<\/li>\n<li>Play hop scotch<\/li>\n<li>Or just learn a new active skill&#8230;&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This would be a good time to learn a little bit about time.\u00a0 Maybe your Mum or Dad could time you to help you begin to understand how long things take:\n<ul>\n<li>How many of each of these things can you do in 10 seconds, then 30 seconds, then 1 minute:\n<ul>\n<li>Jump<\/li>\n<li>Hop<\/li>\n<li>Run between two targets\/wall to wall in a room<\/li>\n<li>Throw a ball in the air and catch it<\/li>\n<li>Throw balls in a basket\/paired up socks in a washing basket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>These are great activities to practise counting too!!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday &#8211; Let&#8217;s get active!\u00a0 Being active and exercising will keep us healthy and it is so much fun&#8230;.
