Cycling Proficiency

On a Wednesday Miss Brogan, Mrs McMann and Miss Grenfell took a class called cycling proficiency. Some of the primary 6 classes joined. I joined it and it tells you about riding on the road safe. It is only primary 6 classes that can join. To join you need to have a helmet and a lock to lock up your bike at the bike racks. Your bike needs to be in good condition. We learned the start and finish position when you are riding on the road. Next week we will be learning the emergency stop. The cycling proficiency group is on from 3pm till 4pm. A man from the bike shop comes and  checks your bike if the brakes are working and other stuff.

Cycling Proficency

On a wednesday some of the primary sixes have joined cycling proficancy. In the morning we  get off our bikes at the gate and we chain them up at the bike racks. Then at the end of school we go into miss cunninghams class and wait for thr teachers to come. Miss Brogan ,Mrs Mcman and Miss Grenfeild. The club is on at 3 until 4. On the first weeek we had to cycle through cones and had to keep our balance then we changed stations and we had a race but it was the slowest person that won.The second week we learned our saftey check we had to look behing our right shoulder then put out  our right arm and wave it three times then we looked behind again and the we used our brakes. Then we moved station we had to travle through two lines  with out hitting one and we had to pretend one was a car and one line was th kirb. We moved station againg and we done our saftey check and we cycled up and down but before we cycled we had to do th saftey check.

Making Victorian Bread

As part of our Interdisciplinary topic on The Victorians, P6B made traditional Victorian bread.  We started the morning using our maths skills to measure and weigh the ingredients, then using the clock we timed how long each part of the process would take. We also used our language skills to write about our experience of making bread in the traditional way.

The class had a fantastic time baking but now realise the hard work that went into making just one loaf of bread, I doubt any of the boys or girls would like to be a Victorian kitchen maid and get up at 4am to start cooking.  please look at our pictures below and leave some comments for the class.

Nursery p6

Every Friday primary 6s are allowed to go to the nursery to play with the children in morning and afternoons.  Two children get to go in the morning and two get to go in the afternoon its really great fun. The staff really like our help.

On a Friday morning they decide who is star of the week . They have a little flower shop that they pretend  that they sell flowers to people. There is a little quiet  corner were  they can just relax, they can also read books. There is also the sand pit that three people can play with it at a time. The staff are very kind and they make sure everything is okay.

The new cash machines

As soon as I heard that we were getting a card that you can put money on I was so excited. Then the next day we all got a card saying our name on it. The new cash machines are very expensive so we all be very careful. I think all the people like the new cash machines because they stop people from getting  bulled to get money.

The dinner ladies got touch screens as cash machines they enjoy them as well so we’re all happy. At first we all needed to get use to it but we got there in the end. I think the teachers had a brilliant idea.
