Well done to all of our Primary Sevens who attended St. Aidan’s High School Partnership Evening this week. This is the first major step in their transition process for high school.

On Thursday this  week Primary Six joined with pupils from Thornlie Primary and Netherton Primary for a Christmas Drama workshop with the ‘Bubblegum and Fluff’ group. The children joined together at interval and played in our grounds. It was lovely to see the children proudly showing off our playground.

On Thursday of this coming week  pupils in Primary Six and Seven will visit Ravenscraig Sports Centre for a Sportshall Athletics Day where they will experience a range of physical activities. All children should wear casual clothes for this (no football colours please).

We are very busy practising for our two Christmas shows.

P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7 will perform Wise Guys and Starry Skies in Clyde Valley High School on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th of December.

P1 and P2 will perform “The Alphabet Nativity” in St Thomas’ Church on Thursday 12th of December.

Parents are very busy sewing more that one hundred and fifty costumes, they have turned the conference room into a workshop and they are sewing around the clock!

Staff are busy making props and scenery and working with the children. It promises to be a great show. Tickets are now on sale from the school office.

As part of our improvement plan Primary 7 have worked along with Mandy Cowan from Community Payback to design a new adventure play area in the school yard. This area will be used for outdoor learning. The design includes a fire pit, a sand pit, a trench which will be hidden under a mound, teepees, pipes to crawl through and a sheltered area. We will use some of the tyres already in place and will hopefully get some others to use under the trench. We also hope to have a tree for every class. The Parent Council are raising the funds for this development and work will start in the next week or so…. We are all very excited! Watch this space……
