{"id":392,"date":"2015-06-19T09:33:03","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T09:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=67"},"modified":"2026-02-06T14:26:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:26:28","slug":"enrolment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/StMonicasPrimaryWholeSchoolBlog\/enrolment\/","title":{"rendered":"Enrolment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ace-leading-paragraph\">\n<div>\n<p>Parents and carers of children who turn five between 1 March 2025 and 29 February 2026 should register during the week starting Monday 13 January to Friday 17 January 2025 for starting primary 1 in August 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-content-paragraphs\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"ace-paragraph-basic-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"ace-field-body\">\n<div>\n<p>Parents and carers should take their children to the appropriate local primary school during that week at the times designated by the school concerned.<\/p>\n<p>You\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0produce a\u00a0birth certificate(s) and a current council tax notice.<\/p>\n<p>You can learn more about\u00a0<a title=\"Choosing a school for your child\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/register-your-child-for-a-school\/\">choosing a school for your child<\/a>\u00a0on the Scottish Government website.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to\u00a0<a title=\"contact your primary school\" href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/directories\/schools\/all?title=&amp;field_directory_tags_target_id=4&amp;lat=&amp;lng=&amp;geolocation_geocoder_address=&amp;field_directory_geolocation_proximity=All\">contact your local primary school<\/a>\u00a0regarding registration you can email or call them directly.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and carers who intend to defer entry for their child to primary school and wish for an additional year of funded early learning and childcare should register their child for school as described above and complete the deferred entry form.<\/p>\n<p>This document is available from the school and on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/early-learning-and-childcare\/deferred-entry-primary-school\">Deferred entry to primary school<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Each year, prior to starting school, there is a programme of visits organised for our new pupils.\u00a0\u00a0 This allows the children to spend some time in school getting to know their new teachers and becoming familiar with the school and its grounds.\u00a0\u00a0 They will also be introduced to their buddies \u2013 senior pupils who will keep an eye on them throughout their first year at school.
