St Ignatius' PS

Weekly Blog 11th June

Again this is a very busy week for the staff and pupils of St Ignatius Primary school. Staff are currently working on the pupils’ school report cards and these will be given out towards the end of the term. We are also looking at the classes for next session. We welcome our new Primary 1 children and their families back to the school on Tuesday for the second induction day. Last week the children settled really well and enjoyed spending time in class and meeting their buddies.

Primary 7 children will attend St Aidan’s High over the next three days as part of the induction process into secondary school. We are sure they will enjoy these days, getting to know new classmates, teachers and the layout of the school building.

Some of our Pope Francis Faith Award children will be attending the National School Mass in Falkirk Stadium on Thursday along with Mrs McIntyre.  This mass is to mark the centenary of the 1918 Education Scotland Act.

On Sunday we had our Thanksgiving mass for the children who received the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Afterwards the children, their families and staff from the school attended a lovely breakfast provided by the Parish.

This Friday we have a family fun night – Short & Shades. The fun starts at 6.00pm with lots of great fun activities, raffles and disco. Please come along and join us if you can.

Finally I would like to say a big thank you for all your kind words and cards on my appointment as Head Teacher of St Ignatius Primary School and Nursery Class. I am delighted and honoured to accept this role and look forward to continuing working with all those involved in our learning community.
