St. Bernadette\u2019s Primary School<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear Parents\/Guardians,<\/p>\n

We are almost at the end of another very busy and successful school year.\u00a0 I would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year and take this opportunity to wish you all a very good Summer Holiday break. \u00a0Please take note of the following information.<\/p>\n

Parent Council Meetings<\/strong> \u2013 The final meeting of the Parent Council for this school year will take place tomorrow evening at 6pm in school.\u00a0 All are welcome.\u00a0 Thank you to all the Parent Council members and those in the Fundraising Committee for all their hard work over the year and to all those who supported these events.<\/p>\n

Assemblies<\/strong> \u2013Primary 1\/2 Assembly is on Friday 12th<\/sup> June at 1.00pm\u00a0 – all parents and friends are welcome to come along and support the children.<\/p>\n

Transition to Our Lady\u2019s High School for the P7 pupils who will transfer in August.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday 8th<\/sup> June Mass and workshops \u2013 7pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tues 9th<\/sup> & Wed 10th<\/sup> June Two day visit for pupils\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9am-3pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Triathlon \u2013 <\/strong>Rooms 7 & 8 will take part in a Triathlon at Wishaw Sports Centre on tomorrow, Tuesday 9th<\/sup> June \u2013 we hope they enjoy this event.<\/p>\n

Junior Road Safety Awards <\/strong>\u2013 our Junior Road Safety Committee have been successful again this year.\u00a0 Two pupils will attend the awards on Wednesday 10th<\/sup> June where they will find out which award they have won.<\/p>\n

Primary 1 \u2013 4 Fluoride Varnish<\/strong> \u2013 the dental health team will be in school for this.<\/p>\n

Primary Games<\/strong> \u2013 Primary 4 and 5 will take part in the Primary Games at Ravenscraig Sports Complex.\u00a0 The children will take part in a variety of events and we hope they have a great time.<\/p>\n

Retiral \u2013 <\/strong>The Retiral Mass for Mrs. Taylor will take place in St. Bernadette\u2019s Church on Monday 15th<\/sup> June at 1.30pm \u2013 all parents and friends welcome.<\/p>\n

School Sports Day \u2013 <\/strong>Our sports day will be held on Thursday 18th<\/sup> June<\/strong>.\u00a0 We are hoping for the same good weather we enjoyed last year.\u00a0 We would be very grateful for any Parent Helpers for the event \u2013 please contact the school if you are able to help.<\/strong> \u00a0The event will start at 11am and finish at 12.15pm.\u00a0 Medals will be presented later on in the day when scores have been added up.<\/p>\n

The lunch will be burger and chips only – \u00a31.85 per pupil for those children who pay.<\/p>\n

Skillforce Group Camp <\/strong>\u2013 the children who were part of the Skillforce Group will have an overnight camp from Thursday 18th<\/sup> \u2013 19th<\/sup> June.<\/p>\n

Leavers\u2019 Mass and Awards \u2013 <\/strong>This will take place in school on Monday 22nd<\/sup> June<\/strong> at 1pm.\u00a0 We will have Mass followed by an awards ceremony and a final farewell P7 Assembly.\u00a0 Tea and coffee will be served at the end of the day.\u00a0 This will be a very special occasion for the school and we look forward to welcoming the Parents and Families of the P7 leavers.<\/p>\n

Monday 22nd<\/sup> June<\/strong> is the date of the end of year Fundraising Committee Disco<\/strong>.\u00a0 We hope to have a big turnout for a fun night.<\/p>\n

Summer Outings<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0 Primary 4 \u2013 7 will visit Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh on Tuesday 16th<\/sup> June at a cost of \u00a36.50 per pupil.\u00a0 Primary 1 \u2013 3 will have their outing to Almond Valley on Wednesday 17th<\/sup> June at a cost of \u00a36.50 per pupil.<\/p>\n

Holidays \u2013 The school will close on Thursday 25th<\/sup> June at 1pm<\/strong> for the Summer break.\u00a0 The school re-opens on Tuesday 18th<\/sup> August 9am P2-P7 and 10.00am for P1<\/strong>.\u00a0 Primary 1 pupils should come into the hall on the first day only.<\/p>\n

Website – Our School Website has lots of information about the school and your child\u2019s learning for this year.\u00a0 I have also been writing a regular blog giving up to date information on what is happening in the school.\u00a0 The website can be viewed at http:\/\/www.st-bernadettes.n-lanark.sch.uk<\/a> \u2013 (the whole address needs to be typed into the URL bar rather than through a Google search.)\u00a0 We also have a Twitter Account for instant updates @BernadettesPS.<\/p>\n
