In turn, teachers and staff work with pupils to reflect on their results, looking at their strengths and learning needs, agreeing next steps and action based on these. As they progress, pupils become more involved in this process, as they develop the skills to make effective judgements on their own learning, developing personal expertise that will be important to them throughout life. Assessment also helps teachers plan learning experiences which are motivating and challenging. Children who may have additional support needs will be assessed using methods best suited to their individual requirements.<\/p>\n<p>ASSESSMENT and REPORTING<\/p>\n<p>Each child\u2019s progress is continuously assessed in all areas of the curriculum with particular focus on Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Talking and Listening.<br \/>\nEach child has an assessment folder to track progress and achievements through the CFE levels.<br \/>\nA full report on each child\u2019s progress for the year is issued annually in May\/June.<br \/>\nInterim Reports are sent out to parents of Primary 1-7 pupils in December.<br \/>\nParents\u2019 Evenings are held during the 1st and 3rd term &#8211; appointments are issued to all parents to discuss his\/her child\u2019s progress (October &amp; March).<br \/>\nOpen Day in November to allow you to see your child at work in class.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any concerns with your child\u2019s progress at any time please do not hesitate to contact the school for information, or to arrange an appointment with the Head Teacher or Class Teacher.<br \/>\nPlease call us if you need help or information: Telephone: (01698) 274993<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assessment is an important part of the Curriculum for Excellence and, at all levels, pupils\u2019 progress is closely monitored by teachers and staff.
