Today is week 10 of clapping for our NHS and Key Worker heroes.<\/p>\n

We have explored lots of different types of careers and workplaces in class so far this year and today I thought we could focus on the huge variety of jobs within the NHS.<\/p>\n

There are over 350 different careers in the NHS \u2013 it isn\u2019t just doctors\u00a0<\/span>and nurses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are a few other roles:<\/p>\n

Dentist,\u00a0Radiographer,\u00a0Physiotherapist,\u00a0Speech and\u00a0<\/span>Language\u00a0<\/span>Therapist,\u00a0Anaesthetist,\u00a0Paramedic,\u00a0Ambulance, Technician,\u00a0Osteopath,\u00a0Podiatrist,\u00a0Occupational\u00a0<\/span>Therapist,\u00a0Dietician,\u00a0School Nurse,\u00a0Pharmacist,\u00a0Midwife,\u00a0Dental Hygienist,\u00a0Health Visitor,\u00a0Mental Health\u00a0<\/span>Nurse,\u00a0Pathologist,\u00a0GP,\u00a0Forensic\u00a0<\/span>Psychologist,\u00a0<\/span>Surgeon,\u00a0Phlebotomist,\u00a0Neurologist,\u00a0Porter,\u00a0Catering Manager,\u00a0Domestic\u00a0<\/span>Assistant,\u00a0Optometrist,\u00a0Receptionist,\u00a0Health Care\u00a0<\/span>Support Worker,\u00a0Emergency Call\u00a0<\/span>Handler,\u00a0Theatre Nurse,\u00a0Intensive Care\u00a0<\/span>Nurse,\u00a0Virologist,\u00a0Paediatrician,\u00a0Prosthetic\u00a0<\/span>Support\u00a0<\/span>Worker,\u00a0Audiologist,\u00a0IT service Desk\u00a0<\/span>Technician,\u00a0Medical\u00a0<\/span>Secretary,\u00a0Medical\u00a0<\/span>Illustrator,\u00a0Oncologist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Choose one of the roles and carry out some research to find out as much detail as you can about the job.<\/p>\n

If you know someone who works in the one of these roles maybe you could ask them some questions as part of your research.<\/p>\n

Consider things like the qualifications needed for the role? Type of training needed? What personal skills are needed? What are the main responsibilities of the job?<\/p>\n

You can choose to display your research in many ways:- \u00a0a poster, a mind map, fact file, digital display or a written report. It\u2019s up to you!<\/p>\n
