We had a fantastic time at our Dinner Dance last night and we are not all in the Chrsitmas Spirit!

All the primary 6, 6/7 and 7 boys and girls went a walk up to Chryston Church to settle how it looks after its refurbishment. We loved getting to try out the new seats and see the big screens.

We have been learning all about angles.

A right is 90 degrees, like a corner of the table. Rachael and Fraser

An angle that is less than 90 degrees is an acute angle. Dil

An angle that is more than 90 degrees is an obtuse angle. Gregor

A straight angle is 180 degrees. Katie

We have moved on in math to circles by telling how many degrees is in them (360°) by using protractors. We didn’t know how to use protractors at first but we learned and now we are pros at it. Then we saw what a compass is but we also didn’t know how to use that but again we learned how to use it so now we are amazing at it. We also learned what parts of a circle and there is the circumference (that’s the outside of a circle), centre (the middle of the circle), radius (a line from the centre to circumference), diameter ( a line from the circumference right though the centre to the other the side of the circumference) and the chord ( the chord is a line from the circumference to the other side of circumference but not going though the centre).

In road safety week we learned how to be safe around traffic. We did a competition. We made Keynote presentations and Pic Collages. On Wednesday Some 6s 6/7s and 7s went to the Tryst for some activity challenges and the rest of 6s came to p7 and p6/7. On Friday it was a dress down day for free and we all wore bright clothes for Road Safety Week. We learned that if you drive less you will live more. You will save money, be more healthy and help the environment.

We have been balancing with our partners in PE. We have one balancer and one supporter, we had to rely on the supporter to keep us balanced. It took a lot of communication, team work skills and trust.

Today some of the boys and girls took part in a sports competition at the Tryst Centre in Cumbernauld. They worked really hard and did Chryston proud. We are eagerly awaiting the results. 

Today a pantomime was on at the school it was about Jack and the beanstalk we all enjoyed it. There was characters like Jack, Jack’s mum, business man/landlord, Cow and the Giant. What happened is when Jack got magic beans from a wizard and a beanstalk. Jack climbed up the beanstalk and saw a giant who had lots of treasure. Jack tried to steal the gold, a golden egg laying goose and a singing harp.
