Kilbowie Day 3 Wednesday

Kilbowie Wednesday  Day 3

A bit cloudy this morning but a gorgeous sunny day in Oban now. We all went on a very exciting walk last night  under  a beautiful full moon…all the children and staff working together. …making lots of new friends along the way. Thinking about all the great adventures we had yesterday and all the amazing things we are going to do today!

Yesterday morning I had porridge for breakfast I spilled the sugar in but it was still nice ..yum! I went skiing for the first time as well….it was amazing because when I got the hang of it I went to the very top of the slope and came all the way down myself. I want to go to Xcape with my mum and dad to ski again. Rock climbing was my afternoon thing. We needed to climb to the top of the crag, I got stuck at the top and needed to jump down so I had to abseil back down…Spiderman style!!  Off for more porridge. From Paul

Yesterday I went on a single sit on canoe. I found it really easy and Martine said I was a natural. I also got to go on a double sit on with Joshua. He has been on a canoe before and we made a great team. It was hard and tiring to use all your arm muscles but we paddled round into the wind to a wee beach. Joshua and I decided to try to carry two other people on our big one and the photos are on our blog.Last nights walk was great fun ..there was loads of mud! Wonder what Safari will be like today.  From Sam

Yesterday I went canoeing and it was hard so the teacher came and helped, we canoed to Kererra island and  to a mini island in the middle. I jumped of a big stone into very deep water, we canoed back and I then jumped off the pier.  Today I am doing safari and I cannot wait!!! By Stephanie

Yesterday me and my group were rock climbing. It was really hard when I was climbing up some rocks but some of the other rocks were really easy. In the afternoon we did kayaking. I was scared at first but Martine said I was brilliant at doing it. As soon as I got in the siton I just started to do it. I liked the night walk last night because I was a bit hyper and it was really good fun trying to walk in the dark and mud. From Emma Coyle

Hello from Alicia. Yesterday I went on a Kayak..I was a bit scared at first but Martine was really good and I paddled all the way round to a beach with my group. I had flapjacks and Mrs Cornwell says we are going to make them when we get back. They were very sweet and had honey in them. We went on a ‘midnight walk.’Mrs Cornwell says it was really a ‘Seven o’clock walk’. That was scary as we were walking in the dark but I found it fun it was dark and muddy but I had my wellies and my wet suit as well it was good fun.

I liked when we were stepping over all the rocks in the water yesterday.  I got soaking wet all the way up to my ribs!  I was the only girl in my group who jumped off the pier into the cold water.  I went underwater for a few seconds then came back up but don’t worry I had my lifejacket on!  The water was a bit cold!

Welcome to the class in the High School!

We are having an amazing experience at Chryston High School. We have a lovely classroom over in the Humanities base. All the  Chryston High School staff and pupils are really friendly and we have settled into a good routine. Our day involves a fair bit of walking and we have been keeping track of that with  our pedometers.

We will be learning about Food Security for the next few weeks. Food Security is about people having a dependable supply of food in order to survive. This will include looking at crop diseases, the diversity of plants, farming and a bit of cooking too!
