A Busy Time

P7b have been busy this week. We designed Fairtrade Sundaes.  P7 boys had a football tournament they drew 4 of there games.  We got hit with millions of hailstones when we were at the football.  The hip-hop and cheerleading auditions were this week. The clubs will run every lunchtime. 😀

Fairtrade Facts !

Go bananas: 1 in every 4 bananas sold in UK supermarkets is now Fairtrade with sales topping £150 m in 2007.
  
Cotton on: The number of people buying Fairtrade cotton is on the rise. Fairtrade cotton sales rose a whopping 660% in 2007, with sales reaching the £35m mark. 

In 2009 cadbury dairy milk commits to going fair-trade  !!

 Fairtrade future ;More than 7 million people in Africa Asian and Latin American benefits from fair-trade !

Fantastic fabric ; since the intorductionnof fair-trade certificated cotton in 2005 annaul sales have been risen  from a humble 200000 to a marvellous  7.79 million in 2008 . 😀

My 5 Facts

No1.Banana growers in foreighn countries are only getting 1p for the work they do.
No2.If we buy fairtrade products the money will be given to the banana growers so they can get 15p.
No3.There are fairtrade products such as fruit,juice,tea,coffee and hot chocolate.
No4.Some people in India have to keep unfair jobs with bad pay just to keep a roof over their families heads.
No5.The first supermarket to promote fairtrade was the co-op
