How do you travel to school?

This week p7a were taught how to complete a travel survey to help the council improve our journey to school. Miss Onions came in on Monday to the glow room where we were waiting to find out what was going to happen. She gave us simple, quick steps such as logging onto the seemis page and how to answer the questions. For the first question we had to find the distance of how far away the pupil lived from the school on a BIG map with all the street names in Moodiesburn and other communities in North Lanarkshire.

Once we filled out the survey we went into groups to teach the rest of the school how to use the travel survey. Once we taught the primary 7b class how to use the survey they also helped us to train the rest of the school to use seemis webpage. When we were helping the whole school we had to make it easier for the younger pupils by breaking down the hard words.

Yesterday we had the rest of he pupils that had not completed the survey so we brought them up to our classroom to finish it. We had to borrow laptops from other classrooms because we didn’t have enough laptops to go around. While we were waiting, there was runners going to collect the classes. We will be updating soon .

P7s Run To Victory

Today we hopped on a bus and headed to Our Ladies High School for a cross country race. There were P5s,P6s and P7s from all over North Lanarkshire. When we arrived we did practice races to warm up whilst we were waiting on P5s and 6s finishing their races. Eventually the P7 boys got taken to the starting line. As we lined up people were shaking and the tension was building then finally the horn was blown!!!

Next thing we knew everyone was gasping for breath and we were half way through the race. Most people walked through the finish line and we were all given cards to tell us our place. A lot of people lost their shoes in the mud and had to go back. That gave them a lower finishing place. The best position out of p7 boys in our school was Darren. I was 43rd out of 70 and Alan was 25th!!!!

Everyone had a fantastic time.

Footy fun!

We have football every Tuesday and we really enjoy it. Some p7’s do football and some do handball. At football we practise dribbling and passing and we really enjoy the football matches we have. It is a fun experience and we are working hard to develop our football skills. It also helps us keep fit. We will also be updating with information about the handball soon.
