Welcome Back

Hi,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!  We are looking forward to an extremely busy term:

  •  We are being joined by Mr Dickson for 10 weeks.
  • We are heading to Glasgow Science Centre for a visit
  • We are having more high school sports coaching and festival
  • We are beginning our new class topic – “Clyde in the Classroom”

and lots more to come.

Visit from Computer Centre

Today Mrs McCabe from the North Lanarkshiere computer centre visited our class to help us set up our e-portfolios. These are our very own blogs that chart our progress in all our subjects. It also allows staff in school to find out about what we are learning.

Choices For Life Glow Meet

We had a glow meet all about choices for life . It was about smoking , drugs and alchohol and why the are not good for you. There was a short film about a boy called Liam who was getting pressurised into smoking. He took one draw and chose not to smoke. There was 6,000 children watching choices for life live on glow meet. They had the boy who played Liam and the boy who played Michael on the show talking about why not to smoke and do drugs. Liam loved swimming so he chose not to smoke as it would ruin his chances to become a proffesional and have a good career.

Why not post a reason why smoking is bad for you?

Media Masters

Last week the school purchased some brand new Ipads. Mr Smith is organising a
Media Master group for p6 and p7. These  people have the job of looking after the Ipads and to erase the history. They will be trained how to use them correctly by Mr Smith and will then help younger classes.

Peer Assessment

Today we began a block of writing instructions.  Our first set of instructions was to make a cup of tea.  Mr Smith took us into the staffroom to make a cup and we then discussed the stages needed.  We created a checklist of criteria that people needed to meet and we wrote a comment before discussing it with our partners.

Hopefully this will help us improve our work.
