This week we have been learning more suffixes in our spelling lesson. We are looking at the suffixes:- “ant” “ent” “or” “er”
This suffix means -someone who.
For example someone who bakes is a baker
Can you list an example of each suffix on the blog.
Someone who helps and looks after you is a “doctor”.
If you work in a bank you are a “banker”.
When a nurse or doctor is treating you you are a “patient”.
An “assistant” is someone who helps someone do something.
If you teach children your a teacher.
If you teach music your a conductor.
If you clean shops your a cleaner.
If you bake cakes for a shop your a baker.
Someone who insists something is insistant.Someone who is merry is full of merriment.Someone who works in a submarine is a submariner.Someone who abducts people is an abductor.
Some one who plants flowers or food is a gardner. Some one who protects you is a protector. Some one who works in a mine is a miner. If you join the army you are a soilder. If you are climbing up a tall mountain you are an epidisioner.

Ent – predicament – The little girl was in a predicament because she wanted to see one film but her friend wanted to see another.
Er – advertiser – In the store the manger was interveiwing people to become an advertiser.
Or – animator – Disney’s film Brave was made by an animator from Disney Pixar.
“ant” – For someone who assists someone they are called an “assistant”.
“er” – If you paint you are called a “painter”.
“or” – If you work from a contract you are called a “contractor”.
“ent” – If you are “patient” you are able to wait for a long time.
