A Snowman at Sunset

The second part of our week has been devoted to our youngest pupils. Our nursery children. They really impressed, enthralled and melted the hearts of each and every person who came along to see their fabulous show.

A snowman at sunset was truly beautiful and extremely entertaining. The children (50 in the morning and a further 50 in the afternoon) gave magnificent performances. A huge thanks to our wonderful nursery pupils, their very proud (and rightly so) parents & carers, our Primary 6 buddies and our dedicated, talented staff. A great time was had by all.

A wee snapshot of the fun – watch out for flying snowballs!]

Thanks also to all those parents/carers who volunteered to speak to Inspector Kara Doonan from Care Commission who will inspect our excellent nursery this coming week. Your continued support, encouragement and active participation in all we do in our nursery is greatly appreciated.

Here’s Mrs MM Murphy’s resume of the whole week…
What a fantastic week in nursery. The children performed outstandingly on Thursday in front of a huge audience.

In the lead up to the show ‘The Snowman at Sunset’ the children have been able to identify the characters and the events that take place in the story. They have being roleplaying the different characters and have expanded their vocabulary through the show songs.

In numeracy the children have responded to a range of mathematical language that they have been using throughout the show. Positional and directional language such as up, down, over, through, next, behind, beside and in front of.

In drama all the children have experienced the excitement of participating and performing in front of an audience. Their confidence has increased and they had so much fun performing for their families. A few budding actors have been spotted!!!

It was fantastic to see how confidently the children celebrated all of their achievements with their friends and families.

What a FAB week!

As always, thanks for reading.
