Commonwealth Week

Everyone had a fantastic time during Commonwealth Week.

Adam in P2 guessed the name of the NPS Commonwealth Mascot correctly.  He’s called Max.  Adam won a pass for the Time Capsule and can’t wait to go swimming and ice skating with his family.

All of the classes loved designing their own Commonwealth Trainers which made it so tricky for the Health Committee to choose a winner.  Miss Dempsey will be helping the lucky winners to make their trainers very soon and we will post photos to show you how fantastic they all are.

All of the classes did fantastic research on the Commonwealth countries and sports and enjoyed sharing their learning with the other children at our special assembly.  We had songs, dances, crafts, poems, posters among many other creative presentations.  Well done everyone!

Our Rugby, Basketball and Tae Kwon Do specialists worked with all of the classes and were a huge success.

Commonwealth Week

Thank you to everyone who supported our Commonwealth Week in school last week. The children and the teachers all had a fantastic time learning about Commonwealth countries and sports. We even managed to raise some money for the school fund too.
We will announce the winner of the Time Capsule family pass at assembly tomorrow when we reveal the name of the NPS mascot.
The lucky winners of our Commonwealth trainers design competition have also been chosen and will be revealed tomorrow.

Celebrating Writing

We all love to read the wonderful writing and stories on the Writing Wall in the Activity Hall.  It is exciting enough to be chosen as the winning writer for your class.  Now each week our winners names will be put in a hat.  One name will be chosen from the hat and that person will recreate their story using an iPad.

Hayden in P1 was the lucky name to be chosen this morning and she has already made her fantastic story with some help from Jade and Rhian (ICT Wizards).

We will show you Hayden’s story next week at assembly and we might even be able to post it here too!

Dylan in Rainbow Haven, Brian in Room 4, Jack in Room 9, Dylan in Room 11, Courtney in Room 12, Jack G in Room 14 and Lyndsay in Room 15 also wrote fantastic stories this week.

Room 17

Rm 17 have been trying experiments and Alix went to Clyde Valley High school for public speaking but even though she did really well, unluckily Alix never claimed 1st place.

P 7 are taking part in a netball festival today and a maths challenge. The two pupils who were choosen to go to the challenge were Dylan and Allan.

Room 17 are also looking forward to the high school visits.

Learning in primary 1

Primary 1 have been learning the new phoneme ‘ck’ and have been reading books. They have been subtracting up to ten. In R.M.E they have been reading the Monkey King and have been doing work on it. In health and wellbeing they have been learning about family and friends . In PE they have been learning how to use hula hoops.  It’s harder than you think!
