This week we have been sorting out our folders for parents night on Thursday. Doing our Phonemes,handling money, graphs, houses and water aid. We have been very busy this week.

Working in room 4
In Primary 1 everyone has been learning new spelling words, they have also been learning new phonemes like the ch, sh, th, ng and the ph sound. They have been taking away from 10 and in art they have been making lady birds out of clay now that is very hard. In their storywriting they have been writing lovely thank you letters. Primary 1 have been working really hard.

Room 12/Primary 4
Room 12/Primary 4 are learning about:
articles, things about the world, missing numbers in maths, letters to people, common words, safety and the 6x table.
Working in Room 9
This week in room 9 the children have been learning about volume and weight.They have been working so hard on it. Room 9 have kept working on money measuring adding up to ten and subtracting from ten.
Star Writers
In room 11 this week, Olivia wrote a great story called ‘The Magic Shoes and the Keys.’
Marc (room 17) and Lyndsay (room 15) have both written letters to other children and teachers in the school to invite them to their Battle of the Bands. We can’t wait for that!
Hannah in room 4 enjoyed printing a beautiful butterfly in art and has written instructions about how she did it.
Aaron in room 12 wrote a story about a bully. It all ended well…come and read it to find out what happened.
Callum in Rainbow Haven wrote about spring chicks and another Callum in room 8 continued on a spring theme with a lovely poem.
Room 9 have been loving their class post office and Lewis has written a fantastic letter from Katie Morag to Grannie Island.
Room 14 have been learning all about the French Revolution and Louis has written a fabulous newspaper article about it called ‘Fight for Food’.
Assembly 13th March 2013
Mr McCracken came to our assembly to tell us some stories and even brought in Sammy the puppet. The story was about a blind beggar wanting mercy but all of the other people said ‘no Jesus won’t help you’. Jesus asked what was his problem and he was blind and Jesus healed him and the first face he saw was the face of Jesus. Here is the song he taught us.
Snowfall
This Monday was terrible with the snow the buses were cancelled everyone thought they were going to get snowed in school oh oh! But we never so that was good. Although it is still really cold and the the school is iced up.
Learning in Room 15
This week we are starting a new maths topic which is weight and length. We had to write estimate the weight of items and then find the actual weight then find the difference between the two. In topic we found out about the history of our surnames and had to draw our coat of arms.
Room 4 learning
In room 4 they have been learning about mini spring topic . In maths they have been learning to count up to 10 with money also they have been learning how to take away. In art they have been learning how to model things with clay.
