Curriculum- Your Child’s Learning is Important To Us!
Again, the nursery team are ensuring that our learning activities and experiences are matched to the experiences and outcomes from Curriculum for Excellence. We have been using new planning arrangements to ensure your child’s learning and development is progressing. We will also aim to use the outdoor area as much as possible!
Reporting Arrangements for Curriculum for Excellence
This session we have developed a reporting format based on guidance from Curriculum for Excellence at the early level. We hope you find your child’s report helpful and informative. As always we value your feedback, so please let us know what you think by completing the short questionnaire.
Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Activities – Thursday 31st May
The nursery children are joining with the infant department in the school to enjoy a wide variety of sports activities. The children will be part of teams and encouraged to try out new ways to use their bodies and new equipment. Please make sure they have their soft shoes to wear.
There is to be a “Royal Tea” in the school on Wednesday 30th May and Thursday 31st May. It is at 2pm on both days. Please come along.
Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Garden Party – Wednesday 6th June
To celebrate and commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee we are to have a “Garden Party” in the nursery. We ask that the children dress as “Kings” or “Queens” or as invited guests. eg a party dress or smart trousers. The children will enjoy some “royal food and entertainment”.

Almond Valley Summer Outing
We are taking the children to Almond Valley for their summer trip for a wonderful day of adventure and play! All children must be accompanied by an adult on the trip. I do hope the sun shines for us on Tuesday 12th June. Please remember to bring a packed lunch and clothes appropriate for the weather. I am sure we will have great FUN!
Newmains Gala Day – Saturday 9th June
If you would like to walk in the parade for the nursery, there has been a suggestion that the children could dress as the “Queen’s Guards”. They have red tops (Nursery Sweatshirt) and black trousers. They wear black hats. The Parent Council have organised for the walkers to meet at 10.00am at Braedale. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nursery Enrolment Meeting
Parents of children who are due to start Nursery in session 2012/2013 have been invited, by individual appointment, to meet the staff on Monday 25th June 2012 at 3.30pm.
Nursery Uniform
Just to remind you that you can buy a uniform for your child from National Schoolwear in Wishaw for our Nursery. The uniform saves their clothes and we think our children look great with our Nursery bear logo on their polo-shirts.
