Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you had an enjoyable break in February. I am pleased to tell you that our children are continuing to make good progress at Nursery.
Cloakroom Area
We hope you like the red nursery bags. They are keeping the area much tidier. Can I please remind you that there should be spare underwear, trousers and T shirt in each one in case a child gets wet at the water area, wet outside or has an accident.
Parental Consultations
The staff will be arranging parental consultations with you to discuss your child’s progress. Please speak to your child’s Key worker to arrange a suitable appointment.
At the consultation meetings you will be able to comment on and contribute to your child’s individual progress folder. If you have any photographs, achievements or any information you would like to go into the folder, please give it to your key worker. This can be done at any time throughout the year.
Curriculum
Our staff attended training last month to ensure that we are planning appropriate and quality learning activities and experiences for your child.
To help us in our planning we would like to know if there are any significant events that your child has experienced so we can take this into account in our planning. Eg. wedding, new pet, holiday etc. Please fill out the accompanying sheet to let us know! We look forward to finding out more about your child.
Road Safety
We always want our children to be happy, safe and secure. We are delighted that most parents are parking in the car park and walking the short distance to the nursery. The gate to the path is opened from 8.00 till 9.30 and 2.45 till 4.10 everyday. It is not open at lunch times for security reasons.
Parents Committee- Race Night
The Parents Committee have been working hard to organise a Race Night. Tickets are £5 and are available from a member of the Nursery staff. The money raised will go towards the summer outing for every child and their parent. We need a great response to make this possible. Please sponsor a horse, come to the night and /or donate raffle prizes. Thank you!
Health Information
Can I please draw your attention to two leaflets in the parent’s area. One is called “Help your child move and play every day” and the other “Help your baby move and play every day”. Both give fun and practical tips and ideas for active play with your child. You are encouraged to look at all the leaflets in the parent’s area and take the ones you find helpful.
Eco Information
The nursery children were delighted to be visited by “Silly Billy” in February. They showed great enthusiasm for the show and thought he was really funny. They loved his ”magic”!
He told us how to be eco friendly:-
• Don’t waste water when cleaning your teeth. Turn off the tap.
• Don’t leave the computer or TV on when you are not using them.
• Don’t drop litter. Keep our school and nursery tidy.
• He told us to recycle paper.
• He told us to look after our things at home and nursery so we don’t need to buy new things.
