Please be reassured that, as a school, we understand and acknowledge the needs of all of the children and young people in our school community and we will always take this into account. I would ask that if it is possible, your son\/daughter can wear a mask at the times outlined below.<\/p>\n<p>It would also be greatly appreciated if your son\/daughter can bring their own masks to school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>North Lanarkshire Update on face coverings use by pupils and staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From Monday 31 August face coverings should be worn by staff and pupils when:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>adults and young people in\u00a0<strong>secondary schools<\/strong>\u00a0(including ASN schools) are moving about the school in corridors and confined communal areas (including toilets), where physical distancing is particularly difficult to maintain;<\/li>\n<li>adults, young people and children aged 5 years and over are travelling on dedicated<strong> school transport<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0appreciate that\u00a0some staff and children and young people will be unable to wear a face covering for good reasons and that position will be respected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Staff and pupils should ensure they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>bring their own face coverings to school;<\/li>\n<li>store these safely in a washable, sealable bag or container when not in use;<\/li>\n<li>wash reusable face coverings in hot water at the end of each day; and<\/li>\n<li>safely and hygienically dispose of disposable face coverings after use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please remember that a face covering can be as simple as a scarf, snood or other piece of cloth which covers the nose and mouth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Further information on face coverings is available from the Scottish Government website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-preparing-start-new-school-term-august-2020-version-2\/\">https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-preparing-start-new-school-term-august-2020-version-2\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Full face covering\u00a0guidance is available on this link:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-phase-3-staying-safe-and-protecting-others\/pages\/face-coverings\/\">https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/coronavirus-covid-19-phase-3-staying-safe-and-protecting-others\/pages\/face-coverings\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yours sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>F Nielsen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parent\/Carer &nbsp; Please find details below from North Lanarkshire Council regarding the update on face coverings in school and on school transport.
