Room 10 primary 5

Good Morning Primary 5,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Remember to log in to your GLOW email to find this weeks home learning grid. You can also access them here Primary 5 Home Learning Grid

Literacy

  • Log on to http://www.spellingcity.com and spend 15-20minutes completing some of the activities I have set for you.
  • Download the ‘EPIC’ reading app and read through ‘The Water Cycle’ book I have assigned to you.
  • Is this a fiction or non-fiction book? How do you know? What features of the genre can you spot?

Numeracy

  • Mrs Anderson has challenged the whole school on Sumdog this week. How many correct answers can you score? The competiton finishes this Friday at 3pm.
  • We have been learning about time. Use your knowledge to create a daily or weekly timetable of all the different activities you are doing at home. Write the name of each activity next to the time you will do it at. For an extra challenge, draw the times on a clock or write them in words.

RME

It is almost time to celebrate Easter! Log in to ‘Espresso’ and try to find out which flower is a symbol of Easter. Find out how it is linked to Easter and what it is a symbol for. You could also have a go at drawing the flower too! I would love to see some pictures of your work.

Can you find information about any other symbols of Easter? You could create a mind-map of all the different symbols you can find/think of.

PE

I know some of you have been doing The Body Coach Workouts live at 9am with Joe Wicks. Don’t worry if you missed it this morning, you can find all of the workouts uploaded to The Body Coach YouTube channel.

Tuesday 31 March Workout

Have a lovely day!

Good morning boys 🙂

I’ve been thinking about you and hoping you’re keeping safe and well.

I hope you’ve been enjoying your activities and keeping busy. 🙂

Today I would like you to try some of these activities.

LITERACY

  • Work on your phonics activities on Studyladder for 10 minutes.
  • Topmarks – Ask someone at home to help you with this Roy the Zebra reading activity on the Topmarks website. Read Chapter 2 today. Choose 3 before and after questions to talk about.
  • Draw a picture of Roy the Zebra. Maybe you could post it on our twitter page.

NUMERACY

  • Mrs Anderson has set a SUMDOG challenge which finishes on Friday of this week. I wonder how many sums you will manage each day! Go for it!!!:)
  • Try this fun number bonds game. You can find it on the TOPMARKS site.

http://www.ictgames.com/funkyMummy/index.html

  • We’ve been working on measure and capacity. Ask an adult to help with this.
  • Choose 3 containers. Take a cup or a yoghurt pot and find out how many scoops it takes to fill each container. Line your containers up in order from smallest to largest.

THE WORLD AROUND US

Springtime is here! Log in to your ESPRESSO account and watch this short video called New Plant Life.

https://central.espresso.co.uk/espresso/primary_uk/subject/module/video/item1035189/gradef/module1031835/index.html

Look out your window. Tell someone at home about any signs of spring and new plant life you can see.

LETS GET ACTIVE

Try this just dance routine today. It’s tricky! Good luck! 🙂

Happy Tuesday! Have a lovely day.

Daily Challenge!

Morning everyone🤗

This week I have been sending room 9 a ‘Daily Emoji Challenge’ which they can do on their own or as a family! Some of them, you need to think outside the box so as a family might be easier👀

I thought I would post them on here in case anyone else wanted to join in with a little bit of fun! Only one person managed to get all 15 correct yesterday! Feel free to reply or tweet your answers to get involved😄

I will post a new challenge each day and on Friday I will share all the answers!

The first challenge is: guess the football teams⚽

Good Luck! 🌈
