Primary 4 Room 7

Thursday 2nd April
Good morning everybody, I hope you are all well and staying safe.  I have attached the Chilli Challenge Grids and the Spelling Grid for everyone to look at to choose today’s tasks. Thank you for the lovely emails you have been sending me and well done to everyone who has been uploading images and attachments of their learning at home, this is lovely to see. I always attach little extras every day to provide you with other things to explore, learn about and enjoy. Today’s things are:

David Walliams elevenses story https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/   For anybody who would like to catch up on any David Walliams stories they might have missed or would like to listen to again there will be a selection available to listen to until Sunday on this website https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses-catch-up/

On BBC Scotland channel this morning there will be a programme about how Scotland changed during the Victorian times when Queen Victoria was sitting on the throne https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/guide/bbcscotland

Remember there is a school Sumdog challenge happening this week. Why don’t you login and see how many questions you can answer today?

Finally there has been a website released by the author JK Rowling called https://www.wizardingworld.com/collections/harry-potter-at-home There are a variety of activities to choose from, enjoy exploring the site. One of the things I found was a link to https://stories.audible.com/start-listen where I was able to start listening to the first story in the series. Just type Harry Potter in the search engine and relax and enjoy.

Take care and I’ll speak to you tomorrow.

Room 10 Primary 5

Good Morning Primary 5,

We are now in a new month, today is the 1st of April!

Remember to log in to GLOW to see this weeks home learning grid. You can also find them here Primary 5 Home Learning Grid

Literacy

  • Write or type a silly sentence for each of your words this week. The aim is to try to make someone laugh! Too easy? Try writing a silly paragraph including all of your spelling words.
  • Did you know that spaghetti grows on trees? Watch this short clip about spaghetti trees to answer the questions – Spaghetti Trees Video
  • Where do the spaghetti trees grow?
  • How long is the spaghetti before they cut it?
  • Are there any spaghetti trees grown in Scotland?

Numeracy

  • Keep working on Mrs Anderson’s whole school competition on Sumdog. I could see some excellent efforts from some people yesterday. Keep it up!!
  • Use your money skills to make up a price list for the food in your house. Every time you eat something from the list add it up and see how much you have spent in one day.
  • Why not set yourself a budget and see if you can stick to it. As an extra challenge, you could add up the total of everyone’s food for today.

PE

For something a little different, search ‘Just Dance Kids’ and select one or two of the routines to try out at home. Could you even contact a family member by video call and do one together?

I would love to hear how you are getting on, so leave a comment if you can!

Remember to watch out for any April Fools…
