Primary 3 Room 4

Good morning boys and girls,

Hope you and your family continue to stay well and enjoyed some of the beautiful sunshine yesterday and can enjoy even more today!  If you listen carefully you can hear so many lovely bird noises particularly as everything during this time is unusually quiet. How many different bird songs can you hear?

A note to parents/carers-

The suggested activities are just that suggestions, participation is at your discretion, complete if you can and find it appropriate to do so.  Many of you will have your own work to do at home and it can be difficult to juggle both.  Please remember both you and your child’s mental health is most important during this difficult time.

Some suggestions for this coming week:

Please refer to the grid for daily suggestions for Literacy and Numeracy.  Other curricular areas can be completed if this works for your family.

Click below to open the grid ( update format- Word version)

Home Learning Grid

Literacy

Phonics and Common Words:

  • Write a sentence for each of your Common Words.

Reading Activity

Visualisor– Make a T-Chart like below.  Listen to the non-fiction video again- What’s Inside Me.

Under each heading record as many body parts as you hear about. Bullet point each piece of information to make it clear.

On the Outside of the Body

Inside the Human body

Art and Design

Find some old magazines. Cut out facial features and make some funny faces.  You can glue these down or just move them around on the paper to make funny faces.  You could then draw some of these faces.  Get creative!

Remember if you would like to leave a comment via Twitter, it would be lovely to hear from you!

Have a good day and remember these are just suggestions.  Keep safe.

Regards

Primary 5 Room 9

Welcome back Primary 5,

I hope you all had a lovely break, I am looking forward to hearing all about it and maybe even seeing some pictures📸 It feels like such a long time since I have seen you all, I am missing your faces and stories everyday!

You should have been starting the Summer Term today, the last term of primary 5 which is always lots of fun but we will make sure we still have fun from home for now!

I sent everyone an email on GLOW this morning with a link to this week’s Home Learning Grid, please continue to refer to this for your daily tasks. Remember you can complete these in any order and there is no pressure to complete them all, do what you can!

Take care, have fun and enjoy the sunshine while it is here!

Primary 5 Room 10

Good morning Primary 5,

I hope you all had a wonderful break. I can’t wait to hear all about what you and your families got up to over the holiday and how you have been keeping safe and active at home. I miss seeing your smiley faces each day and hearing your wonderful stories.

I sent everyone an email on GLOW this morning with today’s challenge of uploading a picture of their smiley face and a note to tell me what you got up to over the Easter Break. You can do this on GLOW or on our Microsoft Teams P5 page.

Learning Suggestions

Please continue to refer to the Week 3 Home Learning for your daily tasks. Remember you can complete these in any order and you do not need to finish all of them, try to do a few each day to keep your brain healthy and active.

Literacy

  • Log on to Spelling City and complete the spelling activities I have assigned to you.
  • Log in to EPIC books using our class code and read the Water Cycle book you have been assigned. Can you then draw your own Water Cycle diagram and label each step?
  • For an extra challenge, you could describe each step in your own words.

Maths

Before the holidays we had been home learning for 2 weeks. Can you work out how long that has been in;

  1. days
  2. hours
  3. minutes

Health & Well-being

It is important to make sure we are looking out for ourselves and others during this challenging time as best we can. I hope the last two weeks have been spent making memories with our families and taking care of those close to us.

Take some time today to think of 5 things that make you happy, 4 worries that you have, 3 things that make you laugh, 2 things that make you sad and 1 thing that makes you angry.

Discuss these with someone in your house. It is important to share and talk about our emotions.

It would be great to hear from you all soon, I hope you have a lovely day.

Room 8 Mrs McQuiston

Good Morning Boys

I hope you had a lovely Spring Break and managed to have fun and enjoy the lovely weather!

I miss seeing your wee smiles each day but I hope you’re staying safe and having fun at home. 🙂

I will be in touch with you individually  but for this week try and complete some of the activities from the home learning grid attached below.

Room 8 Home Learning Grid

Note for parents/carers

We understand you also have your own commitments and the health and well-being of your whole family is most important at this time. Please encourage your child to complete only what you feel they are able to at any given time.

Take care and try to make each person at home laugh or smile today.

Mrs McQuiston 🙂
