Good Morning Boys and Girls!

We hope you have had a good week so far and have managed to enjoy some of this lovely weather whilst staying safe.

Try and complete some tasks on your home learning grids and remember you can choose tasks from the mild, medium or spicy grid. If you would like to share photographs of your work on Twitter then we would love to see them.

Mrs Mooney will be on Sumdog today at 2pm and she has been studying her maths over the Spring Break so she’s raring to go!

Have a great Thursday boys and girls and most importantly stay safe!

Primary 3 Room 4

Good morning boys and girls,

Hope you all are safe and well.  Look out for little messages from me on your Study Ladder Accounts- I can now pop into our class and leave a comment for you.

Has any one tried the music activities on our Home Learning Grid?  I can’t get the song out of my head… “I am a robot, I go beep beep beep beep bop!’

It continues to be important that we all help protect our NHS by staying home and staying safe.  Captain Tom has now raised nearly 30 million pounds for the NHS.  Tonight as we clap for our NHS and carers (8pm) perhaps we could give Captain Tom a wee salute.  What a wonderful achievement by a remarkable man!

A note to parents/carers-

The suggested activities are just that suggestions, participation is at your discretion, complete if you can and find it appropriate to do so.  Many of you will have your own work to do at home and it can be difficult to juggle both.  Please remember both you and your child’s mental health is most important during this difficult time.

Some suggestions for this coming week:

Please refer to the grid for daily suggestions for Literacy and Numeracy.  Other curricular areas can be completed if this works for your family.

Click below to open the grid

Home Learning Grid

Literacy

Phonics and Common Words:

  • Ask an adult or brother or sister to state your phoneme words and write them once without looking at them.
  • Write a sentence or orally state a sentence containing each of the phoneme words.

Reading Activity

Main Ideas/Summary– What’s Inside Me

Write some facts about parts of the human body under the following headings (aim for three sentences for Primary 3 for each heading)

The Heart

The Lungs

The Stomach

Blood

Art and Design

Find some old magazines. Cut out facial features and make some funny faces.  You can glue these down or just move them around on the paper to make funny faces.  You could then draw some of these faces.  Get creative!

Remember if you would like to leave a comment via Twitter, it would be lovely to hear from you!

Have a good day and remember these are just suggestions.  Keep safe.

Regards

Mrs Brown

We are so pleased with the work you are doing at home. Continue working through your Home Learning grid. Remember these are only suggestions, you do not need to complete every activity, just do what you can. 😊

Primary 5 Room 10

Wednesday 22 April 2020

Good Morning Primary 5,

Another beautiful day to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and do some exercising 🌈☀️

Well done to everyone that sent an email on GLOW for yesterday’s spelling challenge, its great to see how hard you are all working even at home. Remember you can also post on our Twitter page to share your ideas with everyone.

Take a look at this weeks Home Learning Grid for today’s activities to keep you busy. If you are up for an extra challenge, BBC Bitesize have daily lessons for all stages on their website here . Remember these are only suggestions and you do not need to complete every activity, just do what you can.

Literacy

  • Spelling sentences – write 10 spelling sentences using this weeks words and remember to use adjectives to make them more interesting. If you can, you can send me an email with your sentences.
  • Spend 15minutes on Spelling City completing some of he activities I have assigned to you.
  • Log on to Epic Books and read part of the book that has been assigned to you on ‘The Water Cycle’ and answer today’s comprehension questions. You can find the questions on your home learning grid.

Numeracy

  • Sumdog Beat the Teacher challenge is still happening at 2pm each day. Good luck 👍
  • As we have previously learned about money and using addition and subtraction skills to find the sum of different amounts, there are some number challenges on your learning grid for today.

Health & Well-being

  • We all know how important it is to stay active and healthy. There are loads of different exercise videos on YouTube such as Just Dance or The Body Coach. Try to do one of these this afternoon. Why not video call a friend or family member and do one together?
  • It is also important to get some fresh air into our lungs. You could do some mindfulness breathing out in your garden. Close your eyes and listen carefully for different sounds you can hear; birds singing, children playing, bunnies hopping. You could even play some relaxing music as you breathe slowly. What can you hear?

Have a wonderful day Primary 5, I’m looking forward to hearing from you all.

Missing you lots!

Good Morning Boys

I hope you and your family are all well and staying safe at home. I miss hearing all your news each day and seeing those happy faces. 🙂

I hope you managed to take your daily exercise outside yesterday and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. I was watering the plants in my garden last night and I remembered we would have been starting our Garden Challenge this week.  When you go outside over the next few days take, some time to look around at the beautiful spring flowers coming into full bloom and look for all the other signs we talked about that spring has definitely arrived.

Did you manage to create a minecraft set or scene with your lego yesterday? I would love to see it if you did!

Feel free to post a photo on our Twitter page.

Remember to choose some activities from our Home Learning Grid to keep those little minds active and learning.

Today I would like you to find some quiet time and choose one of your own books to read or visit Storyline online to listen to one of your favourites. Today I might listen to Arnie the Doughnut. 🙂

Home

Remember to log onto Espresso to learn about dinosaurs. Share some facts you have learned with your family.

BBC Bitesize have new daily lessons each day. If you follow the link https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons.

I hope you have a lovely day and manage to get outside to enjoy the lovely weather.

I’m thinking about you and feel happy knowing you are safe at home. 🙂

Take care

Mrs McQuiston.

P7 Rooms 13 and 14

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a good day yesterday and are ready to enjoy the good weather again today. You should be able to get outside again and do some daily exercise. If possible, try to go onto Studyladder and try some of the tasks I have set. There are some topic activities about space as well as maths activities. I know how much you all enjoyed doing the space activities in class with Mrs Reid when she was with us. Have a great day and stay safe.
