{"id":1388,"date":"2016-01-07T19:35:02","date_gmt":"2016-01-07T18:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/MorningsideBlog\/?page_id=1388"},"modified":"2016-01-12T10:13:10","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T09:13:10","slug":"winter-weather","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/MorningsideBlog\/winter-weather\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Weather"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Winter Weather<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>With winter here, the inevitable cold weather is on its way.<\/p>\n<p><b>School opening during Adverse Weather<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It is the aim of North Lanarkshire Council and Morningside Primary School \u00a0to remain open during periods of adverse weather as long as it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n<p><b>Keeping Informed<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In the unlikely event that the school has to close, we will aim to keep you informed in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>via our school website\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>through text messaging system<\/b> (this can now only be accessed from school and would only be used in the event of an early closure)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>North Lanarkshire Council will also use local media, Twitter (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nlcwinter\">@nlcwinter<\/a>) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/winter\">North Lanarkshire website<\/a> to provide information in the event of adverse weather conditions.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please ensure that the school has your most up-to-date contact information and emergency contact details.<\/p>\n<p><b>Continuity of Learning\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The class teachers may post lessons and homework activities on the blog in the event of the school being closed for a long period.<\/p>\n<p><b>Dressing for Winter<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As the days turn colder and wetter, it is recommended that the children come to school with a suitable winter jacket, footwear, gloves, hats etc. (Please label all of these clearly).<\/p>\n<p>It is also a good idea for children to carry a spare pair of socks in their bags too!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winter Weather With winter here, the inevitable cold weather is on its way.
