{"id":1343,"date":"2016-01-07T18:44:24","date_gmt":"2016-01-07T17:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/MorningsideBlog\/?page_id=1343"},"modified":"2016-01-12T10:29:06","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T09:29:06","slug":"rme","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/MorningsideBlog\/learning-and-teaching\/rme\/","title":{"rendered":"RME"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\"><strong>Religious and Moral Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 23\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Religious and Moral Education is taught throughout the school through a variety of RME topics and Whole School Assemblies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal and Social Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We influence Personal and Social development through a programme, which is planned on a cross-curricular and daily basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal Development is essentially concerned with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-Esteem \u2013 the values, which a person puts on himself or herself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Development is essentially concerned with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-Awareness \u2013 an understanding that actions are influenced by values, attitudes and past experiences and applying this knowledge to future situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Inter-Personal relationships \u2013 interacting in a variety of group and one- to-one situations.<\/li>\n<li>Independence and Inter-dependence \u2013 accepting increased responsibility and challenges using flexible and constructive responses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We develop these through a variety of approaches including Circle-Time, Golden Time, following the Golden Rules, PAThS as well as Co-operative Learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Religious and Moral Education Religious and Moral Education is taught throughout the school through a variety of RME topics and Whole School Assemblies.
