The baby elephant known as Buster, is actually called – Sheila.

Denise Weston Austin, rescued the calf from Belfast zoo, Sheila was moved away of fear of being hit by a bomb.

Sadly the soldiers shot 23 animals from Belfast zoo in 1941.

Ms Austin (Denise Weston Austin) was labelled the ‘Elephant Angel’.

Austin died in the 1900’s and the elephant died in the 1960’s./ In the film, Austin was portrayed as a older, more reclusive character than she was.

The reason she was caught was that a dog spooked the elephant and it ran through all the local gardens.

People complained to the zoo and the elephant then went back there.
