Panto Fun

Primary 1 to 7 of Kirkshaws Primary went to Motherwell Civic Theatre yesterday morning to see the pantomime ‘Beauty and the Beast’. It was a fantastic show with lots of audience participation. French Frankie managed to make us all laugh, but the water fight was definitely the favourite with all the children. Many thanks to Mrs Peat and Mrs Dunn for making up the snack bags for every pupil who went on the trip. Fingers crossed we can make it along to next years show.

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING -Storm Force Gales

MESSAGE ON NORTH LANARKSHIRE WEBSITE

The Met Office and Scottish Government have issued a red weather warning for much of Scotland for Thursday December 8.

Winds will increase during the morning with severe gales developing and storm force winds forecast to arrive in North Lanarkshire in the afternoon.

We are currently assessing the forecast and its likely impact, particularly for schools. Our schools will open as normal tomorrow morning. We will assess the weather warnings first thing in the morning for updates. Should the red warning remain in place it is extremely likely that we will close our schools early at around lunchtime.

Please keep up to date  by clicking here to check the  North Lanarkshire Website.

Snow Days – Shared Learning Homework

In the event of the school being closed due to adverse weather conditions, your child has been given a ‘Winter Learning Pack’. It contains a series of shared learning activities that can be completed at home, a list of appropriate educational websites where they can consolidate learning and a jotter where written tasks can be completed. A copy of these will soon be uploaded onto the school website. Here’s hoping we will not need to use them.

Winter Weather – Paths and Playground

Following North Lanarkshire guidance, during the snowy and icy weather a path shall be cleared daily towards the main entrance to the school. If other entrances appear hazardous, please use the main entrance to drop off your children. Staff will then direct children to their classes. Please ensure that children are not dropped off at school or in the playground earlier that 8.50am as supervision cannot be guaranteed before that time unless they are attending breakfast club. Your cooperation is appreciated.
