I am really interested in using Blogs within my own subject and looking at how we could use it accross the school to celebrate success and achievment.
Margaret Hamilton St Aidan’s High
Our priorities at St Aidan’s are for all S1 to have E-Portfolios, to set up a primary/secondary transition group and to train staff on the use of GLOW
I would like help with the learning space for my SG and Higher classes in order to link glow groups with glow learn
Also need more help with forums and Wikis
Joanne Bonar – Greenfaulds High School
I have enjoyed seeing everyone’s glow groups this morning at the show and tell, well done everyone!
I am fairly confident in creating glow groups and am now just looking for inspiration and ideas to steal;)
In tier 3 i would like support on how best to introduce self evaluation onto my pages for the pupils and how to record their results for teacher use.
KIMBERLY DONNELLY ST MARGARETS HIGH SCHOOL
I am looking for support in setting up homework tasks in GLOW LEARN and using discussion board as a question and answer session. I would like some ideas as to how blogs could benefit myself and pupils.
Irene Stewart – More thoughts!
I was thinking about the course all the way home, and realised that one area that I hadn’t put down for support/taking forward was adding audio and video files to a glow page or document, so I’ll try to remember to ask about it at the course on Monday!!
Day 1 18th Feb
Yet again I am blown away by the enthusiasm of the training participants we have been working with in Tier 2 training. This is our brave crew who will be giving up a Saturday to come along to Day 2 of the Tier 2 sessions.
In this session we had representation from the following schools:
- Calderhead
- Greenfaulds
- St Aidan’s
- St Margaret’s
Here are some things participants would like to explore further in Tier 3:
Wikis seem to be the next step in some ways however I would want to consolidate on Glow groups for a little while. Therafter I am only limited by my own imagination.
Using the text editor to create pages that are more visually appealing to students.
Glow Groups for all my classes and rolling it out across my dept and helping across the wider school..
Using the newer resources such as wikis to enhance my glow groups.
.
looked at some of the examples shown today I will be doing more work on my groups and customising discussion boards etc to make them more accessible to pupils and so they add more value to the group/lesson.
.
I would hope to develop more Glow groups and offer support to other school staff. I am building up to more ‘singing and dancing’ interfaces and adding videos and such things!
.
Creating graphical interfaces and making glow group material easier to access for pupils and myself!
.
I would like to develop a learning and comms hub as a source of support and a hub of inclusion for all children especially those whith a strong association with SfL. I also see great possbilities with the Primary/Secondary liaison projects especially where we as SfL seek evidence and background on learners with ASP’s.
Tracey Keating St. Aidan’s High
In tier three I will need help to structure and organise my pages to be student friendly. I would also like use the Glow Learn aspect for students to complete homework on line.
Mairi Brady St Andrew’s High School
I am hoping to further develop my chemistry glow group and to incorporate some elements of target setting, blogging and e-profiling into the group.
Margaret Muirhead-Greenfaulds High School
I am interested in setting up Glow groups for all curricular areas within Science and Chemistry .
I would like to find out more about using Glowlearn
I would like to explore the possiblility of pupils using ePortfolios within the Interdisciplinery Project of the Scottish Science Baccalaureate .
Paul Higgins – St Margarets High
Throughout Tier 2 training, it has provided me with a huge range of ideas of the uses of GLOW. I hope to use GLOW in the coming year for transition projects with Primary 7 & S1 pupils and also to setup a resource site for Geography classes.
