Last week, we carried out a science investigation over three days, in order to discover if there was a link between the gradient of a ramp and the distance travelled by a toy car. Each day, we gathered in our groups to discuss and predict possible outcomes. We had great fun playing with the ramps and cars. At the end of the week, we discussed our findings and discovered that the higher the ramp, the further the car went. Have a look.
This week the children have been very busy showing us their progression across the curriculum. We demonstrated our cutting skills, pencil control, cloakroom skills, as well as number/letter recognition and number ordering.

After weeks of rehearsing, the children performed the Nativity, Whoops a Daisy Angel, for all their families to see. It was fantastic, I’m sure the audience would agree. The children sang their hearts out and looked fabulous in their costumes.

Last week, we went on a visit to the Post Office. We bought stamps and posted letter to our addresses. Have a look.
Last week, we looked at where we live. Some of our children knew their house number and street. This allowed us to post letters to our homes. We also looked at Cumbernauld, recognising signs from the town centre. Additionally, we learned about road safety. Take a look.
Last week, we were talking and learning about our families. We made our family members from play dough and clay. The clay was very messy but great fun. We drew our family members and sang songs about them too. We also made a graph showing how many people live in our homes.
This week we have been learning about all me. We looked at our facial features and painted self portraits, made fruit faces and made an eye colour chart. We have also been very busy measuring how tall and long we are. Take a look.
