Yesterday was our nursery trip to Wellsfield Farm in Denny. We had a great time in spite of the wet weather!
Continuing our ‘Seaside’ topic, this week the children have been busy bubble painting, making octopuses, junk model telescopes and treasure chests, baking sea biscuits, playing tennis and sharing out shells and fish scales too!
This week, we have been continuing to learn about growing. We have been watching our sunflower seeds with interest. Some have even started to grow. Our farm shop has proved very popular too.
Our current topic is ‘New Life’. This week, we have been learning all about baby animals. We looked at the life cycle of a butterfly, used shapes to make chicks, counted the eggs in the birds nests, as well as trying to make some spring themed yoga moves.
This week is our ‘Come and Play Week’. The children have really enjoyed showing their families all around the nursery. Thanks to everyone who has came along. Don’t worry if you haven’t managed, as there is still opportunities today and tomorrow from 10.30am to 11.30am and 14.00pm to 15.00pm.
Today, the children were practising their hoop skills in the gym hall. We were rolling, twirling, jumping and hula-hooping. Have a look.
This week is our Come Play Week. This gives the children the opportunity to show their families around our nursery and have fun playing together. Thank you to all the parents and family members who have attended. If you haven’t managed along yet, there is still time on Wednesday and Thursday, from 10.30 in the morning and from 2.00 in the afternoon.
We are having lots of fun in the gym hall with Dean, the tennis coach. We are developing our spatial awareness, as well as our hand eye coordination.
We have had a busy week learning all about ‘Healthy Me’. We had great fun looking at the emotions happy, sad and anger, copying these facial expressions and drawing them too. We also had great fun listening to and singing along to songs about our body parts.
Yesterday, we had a fabulous time on our school trip. We had so much fun at the park, especially Miss Shepherd on those slides! The weather was fantastic and there was lots of interesting animals to look at too. Have a look.
