Google Drive Shared Area

I have been asked a few times for access to the presentations we have created in class. I have now created a shared Google drive area and sent invites out to your Glow addresses.

Feel free to download what you want and add to the shared presentations as you need. Remember this is a collaborative area so please be constructive and not destructive.

Ta Dah!

OK well that’s that up and working.

As I add the video to the playlist a tweet is generated with the video’s name and a link. I am not going in to a lot of depth about how I did it but I used https://ifttt.com/ and a bit of the YouTube API http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/playlists/PLYae7BnzE86l78uAS05pbILGXpjn6wkeq

Blog layout and YouTube Playlists

OK so I may have went a bit mental on the playlists, but I have now split the single Higher playlist into 4 seperate areas.

I then went through the blog placed the best YouTube links in the correct folder, some we have used and some we have yet to use but have fun with them. While I am on don’t forget to look for other teachers doing the same thing.

I have however knackered the layout of the site a bit. I will be tweaking it over the next few days to get it how I want it.

Degrees in Computing

Motherwell College is now offering the following degree courses in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University:

  • BEng Computer Security and Forensics
The school leaver entry requirements are a minimum of CCC at Higher Grade*.
The first two years of each course will commence in August 2013 and will run at Motherwell College with year 3 (and possibly year 4) at Edinburgh Napier University. During the first two years there will be opportunities for students to visit the University.

New Layout

OK I have played with the layout a little and added in some behind the scenes stuff. I noticed that the YouTube videos are not displaying in Chrome but appear fine in IE, I will have a look at the code, could be that one of the plugins is interfering with the script.
