Description of the software development process as it applies to the development of multimedia applications

ADITDEM can be applied to developing a multimedia application in the same way it is with any piece of software. It is once again an iterative process with stages being revised.

• Analysis – Identify the users, work out distribution, agree time-scales and budget
• Design – HCI, Media elements to be included, structure, navigation
• Implementation – software/platform to be used, creation of media elements
• Testing – do all images display, codecs installed, links working
• Documentation – Hardware requirements, software (codec) requirements, built in help
• Evaluation – How well does it work, improvements to be made
