FAQ – Resampling

Pupils often get resampling confused with other multimdia terms.

When a lower resolution graphic is scaled up to a higher resolution, pixellation results, which spoils the look of the graphic. Resampling can be used to smooth out the image with the graphics software making a “best guess” as to the missing information.
