Unfortunately, and contrary to our normal open door policy and ethos, no parents/carers or non-council staff will be permitted on the school site without a prior appointment. Should you require to contact us please phone the school and we will address any issues or concerns as quickly as possible.

In order to ensure safe transition at drop off and pick up times SMT/school staff will be present at these times to safely handover children to parents/carers at specific gates. Please be reassured that the safe drop off and pick up of our children is a priority

We also respectfully ask that where possible children walk to school to reduce congestion around the school gates. Should you be dropping off your child please be patient with others allowing 2m space between adults.

Despite this, an exception will be made for the pick of our new Primary 1 children initially. P1 parents/carers will be permitted in the playground from 2:30pm in week 1. Strict 2metre social distancing must be adhered to.

Lunches

Lunches and breaks will be staggered. The children will be able to bring a packed lunch box to school.

School meal payments are changing! When schools go back payments for school meals should be made online only to remove the need to use cash. Pre-ordering meals will also mean no queues at lunchtime.

Many parents/carers have already signed up to online payments however for those of you who have not then please contact the school office or email the address below:-

onlineschoolpayments@northlan.gov.uk.

Uniform

I know you will all be eager for information regarding school uniform. As per our Newsletter in June the children will be required to wear school uniform with school tie if possible. As will be aware our uniform consists of the following:

  • School/Gold Polo Shirt or white shirt/blouse
  • Grey/Maroon School Jumper, logo sweatshirt, cardigan
  • Grey Trousers
  • Grey/Maroon pinafore/skirt
  • School Tie

I know you will be aware that due to the current circumstances these things could change at any point. We would also ask that younger children are able to change shoes, put on jackets etc. on their own. If your child cannot tie their own laces then they should not wear these types of shoes as staff will need to maintain social distance. No PE Kit will be required until further notice.

School Bag

School bags will be permitted. What to pack in your school bag?

  • A snack each day
  • A packed lunch if not attending for school dinners
  • A water bottle (filled with water)
  • Any medicine if required

Please ensure the school bag is big enough to fit these items – as well as any jumpers or cardigans.

Within the school we plan to have resources for all children such as pencils, rulers, rubbers etc. Your child does not need to bring additional stationery as pencil cases will not be permitted.

We will also discourage the use of communal water fountains in school therefore please ensure that your child has enough water to last the full day. We would encourage refillable bottles that can be thoroughly washed at home.

Please be assured that all our staff are working extremely hard to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of all our children and families is our priority. We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children back to enjoying school and learning.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in these first few weeks as we, as a school community, come to terms with all the changes. As always all arrangements are subject to change depending on government guidance at very short notice.

I can fully understand that you will still have many questions and I can assure you that we continue to communicate all information as it becomes available.

As always thank you for your support and co-operation.

Take care, stay safe, God Bless,

Mrs Tierney
