The children have been so enthusiastic during our Superhero topic. They have have been learning which foods are healthy and help your body to grow and also about foods which are not so good for our health. They have also been sorting food into groups at snack time. We hope they have been coming home talking about vitamins, calcium, dairy , fruit and vegetables. The children had great fun making vegetable and fruit Superheros!Another important aspect of keeping healthy is to have exercise, so we have been involving the children in lots of physical activity indoors and out!  The children have also been looking at size and amount. We made a ‘cityscape’ from different sized boxes and printed windows on the tower blocks. The windows had to be printed in a pattern which was quite challenging! They also sorted fruit and veg according to size.

We have also been talking about characters in stories and making our own comic strips from photocopied magazines or drawing our own. It has been a really fun few weeks! Who knew there was so much to learn from looking at children’s favourite comic book heroes.
