{"id":4152,"date":"2017-02-07T13:25:26","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T12:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/CardinalNewmanWebsite\/?p=4152"},"modified":"2017-09-15T11:02:45","modified_gmt":"2017-09-15T10:02:45","slug":"daily-prayer-66","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/CardinalNewmanWebsite\/daily-prayer-66\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tuesday 7 February 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>St Mel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\"><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/public\/CardinalNewmanWebsite\/uploads\/sites\/21883\/2017\/02\/aaaaa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4153\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/public\/CardinalNewmanWebsite\/uploads\/sites\/21883\/2017\/02\/aaaaa.jpg\" alt=\"aaaaa\" width=\"250\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saint Mel was a 5<sup>th<\/sup> Century saint in Ireland who was a nephew of St Patrick.\u00a0 Mel and his brothers accompanied their uncle Patrick to Ireland and helped him with his missionary work there.\u00a0 He and his brother were both consecrated by Patrick himself.\u00a0 Mel became Bishop of Ardagh but spent most of his life as a travelling missionary and evangelist.\u00a0 He supported himself by working with his hands and what he gained beyond bare necessities he gave to the poor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We pray that like St Mel, we may live simply and give generously to those in need in order to claim our eternal reward in heaven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Father \u2026..<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>School Prayer <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>May I live it completely for You, <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Through you, <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>With You and in you.
