What is Curriculum for Excellence?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Curriculum for Excellence aims to provide an improved, more flexible and enriched curriculum for all children and young people from 3 \u2013 18.<\/p>\n

The purpose of Curriculum for Excellence is encapsulated in the four capacities<\/p>\n

to enable each child or young person to be a Successful Learner, a Confident Individual, a Responsible Citizen and an Effective Contributor.<\/p>\n

What are the curriculum areas in Curriculum for Excellence?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are eight curriculum areas:-<\/p>\n

Expressive Arts\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Religious and Moral Education<\/p>\n

Learning is divided into two phases:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Broad General Education (BGE)<\/span><\/h3>\n

This phase is from Nursery to the end of Secondary School Year 3.
\nLearning is divided into levels.
\nThe new levels are as follows:-\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This phase is from Secondary School Year 4 and beyond<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
