Work Experience is an excellent opportunity to sample the world of work and help shape your aspirations, personal work goals and is an extremely valuable and worthwhile exercise in looking beyond school to a positive work place destination:

Work experience week has many benefits including:
· Responsibility, by organising your own placement promotes greater responsibility
· Effective, during work experience you can see first-hand what happens in a typical day on the job. Getting a realistic idea of all the aspects of a job helping you be a more effective contributor helping make more informed choices on your possible career path.
· Confidence, through meeting new people building confidence in your ability to adapt and get on in the job. Being able to ask questions means you can gain a deeper insight into the job, career prospects and what other employees like best about their job, or how they ended up in their line of work, and what qualifications they have or needed.
· Experience, meeting people in the job also helps you to see first-hand what is expected of an employee and start building a network of contacts in an industry you like, which may even help you find a job later on.
· You can learn about related jobs in the same field, which could give you more ideas about what kind of career you might go into.
