The full details of the eligibility, criteria, including income thresholds, are shown on the NLC Website EMA which is accessible by clicking on the link below<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/additional-support-families-and-children\/education-maintenance-allowance\">Education Maintenance Allowance | North Lanarkshire Council<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-content-paragraphs\">\n<div class=\"ace-paragraph-basic-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"ace-field-body\">\n<h1><strong><span style=\"color: #666666;font-size: 1.25rem\">Eligibility\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>You can apply for an EMA if you are a student staying on in education after the age of 16 years and you attend a North Lanarkshire School or Community Learning and Development HUB:<\/p>\n<p>If you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16 years of age or over before 30 September 2023, you may be eligible for an EMA from the beginning of the August school term. Applications must be submitted by 30 September 2023\u00a0for backdated payments to be made.<\/li>\n<li>16 years of age after 1\u00a0October 2023\u00a0and before 29\u00a0February 2024, you may be eligible for an EMA from January 2024.\u00a0Applications must be submitted by 29\u00a0February 2024\u00a0for backdated payments to be made.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>cut-off date<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0all application forms for the academic year 2023-2024 is\u00a0<strong>31 March 2024<\/strong>.\u00a0 The\u00a0<strong>cut-off date<\/strong>\u00a0for supporting documents is\u00a0<strong>5 April 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>No applications will be accepted after that date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMA applications for 2023 &#8211; 2024 are now open.\u00a0 Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is an allowance of \u00a330 per week, which can be paid to eligible students who stay on in education after the age of 16 years.
