These subjects continue the Broad General Education (BGE) and help prepare pupils for the Senior Phase, where they may go on to work towards National Qualifications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1187\">At this stage, pupils are not expected to make final career decisions. The focus is on maintaining a broad and balanced curriculum, while allowing pupils to spend more time studying subjects they enjoy and feel motivated by.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1187\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">How the Process Works<\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1331\">Starting this week pupils will be supported through the options process in a number of ways. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1375\">participating in assemblies and class-based discussions<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1375\">having opportunities to speak with subject teachers and Pupil Support staff<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1375\">being given access to information about S3 subjects and pathways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">Supporting Your Child at Home<\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2097\" data-end=\"2197\">Parents and carers play an important role in supporting pupils during this process. You can help by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2274\">encouraging your child to choose subjects they enjoy and feel engaged in<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2274\">using their most recent &#8220;Progress&#8221; report to help guide and inform discussions<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2274\">focusing on strengths and interests rather than specific future careers<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2274\">reassuring them that feeling unsure is normal<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2274\">encouraging your child to speak to their Pupil Support Teacher if they have questions or concerns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">Starting the process<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Parents\/pupils can now access the <em style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><strong>S2 into S3 subject information booklet<\/strong>,<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> the <\/span><strong><em style=\"font-size: 1rem\">S2 into S3 preliminary subject availability form<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> and the formal <strong><em>S2 Options Process letter<\/em> <\/strong>using the links below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1664\">\ud83d\udd17<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/public\/CAcad\/uploads\/sites\/19501\/2026\/01\/19154443\/S2-into-S3-Option-Booklet-2026-27-Doc.pdf\">S2 into S3 Option Booklet 2026-27 Doc<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1728\">\ud83d\udd17 S2 into S3 Preliminary Subject Availability form<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1728\">\ud83d\udd17<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/public\/CAcad\/uploads\/sites\/19501\/2026\/01\/19143005\/S2-into-S3-Option-Curriculum-2067-27.docx\">S2 into S3 Option Letter 2067 -27<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"1932\">The subject availability form should be completed and returned online by <strong>Monday 26th January 2026, <\/strong>at the very latest.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1934\" data-end=\"2056\">The information gathered from this preliminary form helps the school plan a balanced and suitable S3 final option form for all pupils.
