Pupils from the school\u2019s Performing Arts Department were invited by North Lanarkshire Council to perform at the authority\u2019s prestigious \u2018CANcan Initiative\u2019 launch at Motherwell Civic Centre on Monday 23 January.\u00a0\u00a0 The \u2018CANcan Initiative\u2019 is North Lanarkshire\u2019s response to the government\u2019s \u2018Scottish Attainment Challenge\u2019 which hopes to focus and accelerate improvement amongst pupils in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing in certain local councils, including North Lanarkshire.\u00a0\u00a0 Braidhurst pupils once again did themselves proud as our sibling pipers, Cameron and Zoe May, put on a rousing performance, including \u2018Scotland the Brave\u2019 whilst the wind band entertained everyone with their rendition of \u2018Shut Up and Dance\u2019 and \u2018Let it Go\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0 Principal Teacher of Performing Arts Kimberley Donnelly remarked that \u201cour pupils did really well today and performed like true professionals.\u00a0 They all did us proud with so many compliments\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
