{"id":3184,"date":"2014-11-26T15:04:38","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T15:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/Braidhurst\/?p=3184"},"modified":"2014-11-26T15:04:38","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T15:04:38","slug":"football-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/Braidhurst\/2014\/11\/26\/football-13\/","title":{"rendered":"FOOTBALL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the third round of the Scottish Cup, Braidhurst were to play Falkirk High at home.\u00a0\u00a0 The boys were looking to book a place in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> round and do it in style against Falkirk.\u00a0\u00a0 The game started off at a fast pace with Braidhurst passing the ball quickly around the pitch looking for a space to exploit.\u00a0\u00a0 Jack Simpson looked dangerous early on as he broke through the defence.\u00a0\u00a0 The deadlock was finally broken on 9 minutes, when after hard work by the midfield and an accurate pass through, Jack Simpson fired the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0.\u00a0\u00a0 Now with Falkirk already behind they had to push forward to try and score an equaliser as they were sitting very deep.\u00a0\u00a0 The opponents were unable to cope with the continual attacks from the strikers and midfield and in the 12<sup>th<\/sup> minutes, Jack Simpson added a second.\u00a0\u00a0 At 2-0 the boys settled more into the game and continued to pass it around the park making Falkirk chase the ball.\u00a0\u00a0 On the 20<sup>th<\/sup> minute Reece Geddes scored to make it 3-0.\u00a0\u00a0 This was closely followed by a 3<sup>rd<\/sup> goal for Jack Simpson in the 30<sup>th<\/sup> minute.\u00a0\u00a0 Jack now had three and the Falkirk defence decided to double mark him to try and stop the threat.\u00a0\u00a0 This created gaps between the CB\u2019s and the full backs and Lewis Guy took advantage of this to score his first goal of the game in the 31<sup>st<\/sup> minute.\u00a0\u00a0 Not wanting to be outdone by his follow winger, Nathaniel Black scored a goal from an acute angle outside of the box to make it 6-0.\u00a0 Lewis Guy was determined to add to his total and on the 53<sup>rd<\/sup> minute he scored again to make it 7-0.\u00a0\u00a0 Although the game was well out of the reach of Falkirk they continued to press and after Jack and Reece both coming off injured, they finally made a break through; the score was now 7-1.\u00a0\u00a0 The loss of the clean sheet annoyed the Braidy boys and they continued to press for more goals.\u00a0\u00a0 In the last 5 minutes of the game Robbie Bryden burst forward from midfield to score two to bring the score to 9-1.\u00a0\u00a0 Well done to all the boys who played in the game and to those who were unable to play but came to help and support from the sidelines.\u00a0\u00a0 The boys now look forward their 4<sup>th<\/sup> round match.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the third round of the Scottish Cup, Braidhurst were to play Falkirk High at home.\u00a0\u00a0 The boys were looking to book a place in the 4th round and do it in style against Falkirk.\u00a0\u00a0 The game started off at a fast pace with Braidhurst passing the ball quickly around the pitch looking for a &hellip;
