{"id":2426,"date":"2013-12-20T10:57:50","date_gmt":"2013-12-20T10:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/Braidhurst\/?p=2426"},"modified":"2013-12-20T10:58:07","modified_gmt":"2013-12-20T10:58:07","slug":"frohe-weihnachten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/Braidhurst\/2013\/12\/20\/frohe-weihnachten\/","title":{"rendered":"FROHE WEIHNACHTEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;  800x600  &lt;![endif]--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 42.3pt\"><span>Third and Fourth year students of German have enjoyed the support of Miss Anja Woike, a German assistant, who has helped them to become more confident when conversing in the language.<span> <\/span>Last week, she brought German culture to the department, by devising a power point presentation on Christmas and New Year in Germany.<span> <\/span>Pupils were able to learn about such things as typical Christmas foods, presents, rituals and some of the popular carols sung in German.<span> <\/span>They also had the chance to sample German fruit cake (Stollen) and ginger cookies (Lebkuchen).<span> <\/span>In addition, S3 pupils have been learning how to describe their house in German, and Anja produced authentic photographs of her house in Germany and pupils were given a virtual tour of the rooms via a Smart Board presentation.<span> <\/span>Anja is spending Christmas with her family in Dusseldorf in Germany, but has promised to bring back a multitude of stimulating resources to further extend the pupils\u2019 knowledge of the customs and language of the country!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Third and Fourth year students of German have enjoyed the support of Miss Anja Woike, a German assistant, who has helped them to become more confident when conversing in the language.
