On Friday the 30th of August Primary 7 presented a peer mediation assembly there was be lots of things such as drama, posters , our peer mediation pledges and a thank you speech. We enjoyed it and everything went well.
We had a fantastic training session today with Mr McKendrick and Miss McMahon. We learned what it means to be a peer mediator and started to develop the skills and responsibilities we will use in our new roles.
Here are some important things we have learned so far:
Don’t ask closed questions – Danielle
Don’t take sides in a peer mediation circle – Gemma
Try not to judge – Caitlin
Think, look and listen to your peers – Bethany
Keep your emotions in check – Olivia
Sort it all out fairly – Jack
Other children can’t be forced into sorting things out – Kelsey
No accusations should be made – Rachael
Take a neutral position – Cameron
Show you are listening by looking at the speaker – Martin
