Viking Longship Competition

As part of our class topic on the Vikings we were learning about voyages and how they travelled. Everyone was given the opportunity to create their own longship as part of their homework. Mrs Rooney was over the moon as all the creations were fabulous! It was a very difficult decision to choose two winners but the lucky boys were Jack Cameron and Bartek Micolajczak. Well done to everyone who took part.

This Is Our Faith

As part of our RE programme, the children have been exploring God’s precious gift of life. During the month of November we have been remembering and praying for our deceased loved ones. The children have created a beautiful display of praying hands to show who they are praying for.

Ipads

The class have been using our new ipads to enhance their numeracy skills. They are enjoying exploring the apps and playing a variety of mathematical games. If you would like to try them out on your own ipad at home then please visit http://appsineducation.wikispaces.com/ for a variety of apps relating to every curricular area. Some of the apps are free and some are chargeable so please check before using.

Kodaly

The children are continuing to develop their skills in music with Mrs Magregor during Kodaly lessons. They are enjoying working together to learn musical rhymes and games. We have some great singers in Primary 5 this year!

Swimming

The class started their swimming block last Thursday at the John Smith Pool. They all had great fun meeting their instructors and practicing their skills in the water. I am sure they will really enjoy this valuable learning experience.
