{"id":73,"date":"2017-10-05T16:01:35","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T16:01:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/wintonprimary\/?page_id=73"},"modified":"2022-02-21T16:13:08","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:13:08","slug":"parent-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/wintonprimary\/parent-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Parent Council <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Parent Council supports the school in a variety of ways.\u00a0 They are very proactive and are an integral part of our school community.\u00a0 They work hard to raise funds and have had some very successful fundraising events, e.g. our family bingo nights are always popular.\u00a0 They have organised discos for the children and taken part in the school fayres.\u00a0 As a result, they are usually able to sponsor the Primary 7 Leavers\u2019 gifts, Literacy prize and our Sports\u2019 Day medals and snacks to name but a few.\u00a0 During Lockdown, they sourced and delivered a variety of craft packs to each child.\u00a0 They also subsidise our Primary 7 residential visit to Arran each year.<\/p>\n<p>Chairperson: Sandra McKeaveney<\/p>\n<p>Secretary:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Laura Jayne Reid<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fiona Graham<\/p>\n<p>There is also a group of parents who support the core group when events are being planned.<\/p>\n<p>Every parent is a member of the Parent Forum and as such is made very welcome at each meeting.\u00a0 Details of meetings are sent out in advance and under the current climate conditions we hold these virtually over Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-169\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone-300x104.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone-300x104.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone-1024x355.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone-768x266.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/wintonprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12090\/2022\/02\/21161251\/Parentzone.png 1111w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parentzone Scotland is a unique website for parents and carers in Scotland, from early years to beyond school.\u00a0 The website provides up-to-date information about learning in Scotland, and practical advice and ideas to support children\u2019s learning at home in literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing and science.<\/p>\n<p>Information is also available on Parentzone Scotland regarding additional support needs, how parents can get involved in their child\u2019s school and education.\u00a0 Furthermore, the website has details about schools including performance data for school leavers from S4-S6;
