Sport is right at the heart of our ethos at St Peter’s. We were extremely proud to achieve our first Sport Scotland School Sport Gold Award in 2015, and we have successfully renewed this status ever since. This highlights our commitment to excellence in physical education and sport throughout the school.
Our Active Health Group has been led by upper school pupils for over eight years and aims to ensure that all children at St Peter’s have the opportunity to participate in high quality physical activity opportunities, both during the school day and through extra-curricular clubs. We work hard to motivate each other to enjoy sport and to be as fit and active as possible. We believe that this positive attitude to sport will have a lifelong impact on all of our pupils.
Our Active Schools coordinator, Christopher Hayes, is based at St Matthew’s Academy and works closely with us to develop opportunities in school and also to create close community club links. We are also delighted to be supported by the fantastic St Matthew’s Academy sports leaders who deliver sport in school.
A full list of our many sports clubs can be found on our clubs page. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like more information or would like to support the delivery of sport in our school.
