They are used to help plan learning and to assess progress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/education-scotland\/scottish-education-system\/policy-for-scottish-education\/policy-drivers\/cfe-building-from-the-statement-appendix-incl-btc1-5\/principles-and-practice\/\"><em><strong>Principles and Practice\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>The principles and practice documents\u00a0are essential reading for practitioners as they begin, and then develop, their work with the statements of <a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/scottish-education-system\/policy-for-scottish-education\/policy-drivers\/cfe-(building-from-the-statement-appendix-incl-btc1-5)\/Experiences%20and%20outcomes\"> experiences and outcomes<\/a>.\u00a0Each document\u00a0sets out the purposes of learning within a particular curriculum area, describes how the experiences are organised, and offers guidance on aspects such as learning and teaching, broad features of assessment, progression and connections with other areas of the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Curriculum for Excellence?
